Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission AGM – motions and nominations

Many thanks to all the people who took the time to submit motions and nominations for tomorrow’s AGM.  Below you will see the full list submitted.  Please come along tomorrow to support the commission in the work that it is trying to do.

MOTIONS

I, Adrian Finnegan, 14LC0050, propose that the Irish NPS Series have standardised prize money for the Senior 1 categories.
For example,
Sterling 1st place £100, 2nd place £75, 3rd place £50
Euro 1st: E125, 2nd place E95, 3rd E60

I, Adrian Finnegan, 14LC0050, propose that the NPS Series Senior Categories be won by attending ALL of the rounds. There is no “Best of X”. if there are 5 rounds, its is all the points accumulated from 5 rounds. Under 16 and below may drop a round.

I, Adrian Finnegan, 14LC0050, propose that each club hosting an NPS pay a fee to join the league. There are 5 rounds for 2015, each club pays £200 to join (totalling £1000).
At the end of the season a prize pot is divided amongst the Senior 1 podium such that:
S1: 1st = £300; S1:2nd = £150; S1: 3rd = £50.
To qualify for the Prize Fund you must compete in ALL ROUNDS. You cannot drop one.
S1 women receive the same Prize Fund, based on same rules.

I, Maciej Staroniewicz, Cycling Ireland 2014 licence number 14A20033 propose that the gridding system for the CX Nationals is reviewed and riders’ UCI points are taken into account in addition to their provincial league positions.

I, Maciej Staroniewicz, Cycling Ireland 2014 licence number 14A20033 propose that riders in the Senior 4 Men and Senior 3 Women XC categories do not carry any league points and that the winner of each round is immediately promoted to Senior 3 category. B race in Cyclocross is a good example.

I, Maciej Staroniewicz, Cycling Ireland 2014 licence number 14A20033 propose that absolutely no practice is allowed while ANY races are taking place. The enforcement of the rule to lie with the Race Commissionaire.

I, Maciej Staroniewicz, Cycling Ireland 2014 licence number 14A20033 propose that the entry fee to XC races for Senior riders is increased to €25.00. The purpose of this is to encourage clubs to run races by making it more cost effective (at present most clubs don’t make any profit or even break even)

I, Maciej Staroniewicz, CI licence number 14A20033, propose that the seeding run in the downhill iDMS series should carry points.

I, Gareth Gibbons, Licence number 15LC1313 would like to put forward the following motions…” ***Gareth only then outlined a single Motion***
1.    CX/XC races should receive points, dependent on the number of riders racing each category. These points would then be used to grid national level races (e.g. an A race in Connacht with 40 starters would get the winner a max of 40 points, whereas an A race in Dublin with 100 starters would yield the winner 100 points with the points decreasing by 5 for each following placing (2nd would have gotten 95). This would allow some form of national ranking for CX or XC to be formed.
