Off-road commissaires course – 29 & 30 August 2015
Congratulations to the eight newly qualified off-road commissaires. The Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission had arranged for a UCI commissiare to come over from England to train willing volunteers in the disciplines of downhill, cross-country and cyclo-cross.
The training took place over two days in City North Hotel in Dublin on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2015. Kelvin Hoy, a UCI commissaire with British Cycling delivered an informative course with lots of time for discussion.
The course included some practical work including sketching out and fully labelling a cross-country, cyclo-cross and downhill course.
At the end of the second day there was a written exam paper to complete.
All eight passed the course and are now provisional commissaires. Mentoring at events will then add to their training.
