Challenging conditions at Bree for the Downhill National Championships
The 2022 Downhill National Championships took place at Bree Hill, County Wexford over the weekend of 23-24 July 2022. The popular venue attracted a full capacity entry of 250 riders. Host club Bree MTB has a great reputation for hosting off-road events at this venue and this was their first time hosting the national championships. The venue has a great event village at the entrance to the site and a large car parking field across road. On Friday riders were able to do a track walk with practice opening on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon saw the seeding run.

Sunday morning had another practice session with the main race taking place in the afternoon with a single timed run down the hill. Conditions were made challenging by some heavy showers. Congratulations to those who made the podiums. Well done for all who took part. Speedy recover to those who crashed.
