2011 XC Racing Categories – Update
The recent announcement by the Offroad Commission regarding the introduction of ability-based XC racing categories has generated a lot of excitement and feedback from XC riders.
After discussing the changes with members of the XC racing community we are now reviewing and refining aspects of the category system. We will present full details of the revised categories by February 14th, along with recommended categories for all riders based on their 2009 and 2010 race season performances.
The revised categories will be introduced for the 2011 race season, starting with Leinster League Round 1. Mandatory grading will be introduced for 2012, and will be based upon the riders 2011 race performance. It is intended that a Grading Panel will be assembled from established members of the XC racing community to manage the grading process.
