CRC Sponsor Irish DH Development Squad Training Event

Six members of Ireland’s downhill development squad headed to Caersws, Mid Wales, last weekend to hone their skills on one of the best tracks in the UK.

During the weekend, sponsored by Chain Reaction Cycles, Dan Sheridan (Junior), Christopher McGlinchy (Junior), Ben Kennedy (U14), Jacob Dickson (U14), Luke Cornforth (U14), and Cameron Cornforth (U16) made their way from Dublin to Holyhead, ready to hit the testing runs at Caersws.

After a hearty breakfast, the six young guns – which include Under-16 European Downhill Champion Christopher McGlinchy, Dan Sheridan (3rd overall in BDS 2010), Cameron Cornforth (2nd Irish National champs 2010), Luke Cornforth (Silver in 2010 Under-14 Downhill Championships), Ben Kennedy (second overall 2010 Irish NPS), and one to watch for the future, Jacob Dickson (3rd overall 2010, and still two seasons in under-14 age group) – headed to the track.

It was a cold, crisp day and the sun shone on the backs of these talented young Irish lads who’ll be racing in the British Downhill Series 2011 and the Irish NPS throughout this year.
