Warning to Users of Three Rock Trails

A number of mountainbikers have reported large rocks being deliberately rolled onto the new purpose-built mtb trails on Three Rock in Dublin. We have reported this to Coillte and received the following response:

Thanks for this notice. We will have someone out to the site ASAP to rectify.

The signage for the site is currently being maunfactured and I will have a date for installation shortly.

Can I please ask that you alert MTBers on the forums and also ask that MTBers are vigilant for anyone disturbing the trail works? While we will pursue anyone we can for criminal damage, which I regard this as being, there is no doubt that vilgilance by MTBers as legitimate users of the forest is the best prevention from further damage.

Also, please note that the byelaw for the property will change once the signage is erected, to designate the trails for MTB use.

I do note that there are issues of other users on the MTB trails. The new signage will clearly state that the MTB trails are for MTB use only and we will have numerous signs to this effect on the trails. While the MTB trails are not yet open, policing this is very difficult and I would appreciate that MTBers are made aware of the likely presence of other users currently.

Thanks,
Regards,
Daithi.
