Squad Announced for 2011 DH World Champs

Downhill World Championship 2011

Cycling Ireland have announced their squad for the 2011 Downhill World Championship in Champery.

The junior and elite teams for the 2011 Downhill World Championships in Champery, Switzerland are.

Junior Team:

Three junior riders, Dan Sheridan, Christopher McGlinchy and Gavin Carroll have been selected as the Junior Team to travel to the 2011 Downhill World Championships. Tom Sheridan will act as manager for the team.

Senior Team:

Ben Reid, Greg Callaghan, Seanan O’Riordan and Scott Laughland will represent the senior elite riders. Reid will lead the aspirations of the seniors and has regularly qualified into the second day of competition at the World Cups this year. Ben has had a consistent season and if he can ride to his potential a high placing is possible. The remainder of the team (Callaghan, O’Riordan and Laughland) is made up of young riders who have shown potential and ridden World Cup’s consistently this year.
