2011 Cycling Ireland Offroad AGM details

The 2011 Cycling Ireland Offroad AGM will be held on Saturday Oct 8th. in Taylor’s pub, Ticknock, Dublin.

Important notice for all 2011 National Championship medal winners:
As in 2010, all 2011 Off-road National Championship Medals (XC, CX and DH) will be presented at the Off-road Commission AGM Prize giving Ceremony.

Schedule as follows:

10:30 – Self-paced mountain bike spin Ticknock Forest. No CI licence required.

13:00 – Post-spin refreshments served for AGM attendees only (soup & sandwiches). (CI licence required to attend)

14:00 – MTB AGM (Taylor’s pub, Ticknock, Dublin.) (CI licence required to attend)

16:00 – Prize Giving for XC & DH NPS, Offroad Nat. Champs  & Leinster XC League. No CI licence required.

18:00 – Wrap-up

If you wish to put Motions & Nominations forward to the AGM please send them to offroad.commission@gmail.com by Saturday 1st October at 1:00pm. (Motions/Nominations will not be taken on the day).

We have created an Online Registration form for all participants so we can get an idea of numbers, and also vote on your favourite riders/races etc.. of 2011, please fill-out the form below.
Trophy winners need to advise us if they can make the meeting to collect their trophy – there is section on the form for you to advise the name of someone attending who can collect the trophy on your behalf.

 

Off-road Commission Awards 2011

For 2011 the Off-road commission is introducing a series of awards to recognise events and individuals who have stood out over the season, categories listed below.

Any licence holder can cast a vote, up until midnight on Saturday 1st October, the winners will be announced at the prize giving and presented with a fine lump of glass.

Best XC race of 2011 (Excluding National Championships)

This award is for the Cross Country event that people feel was a cut above the rest. It could be the best organised, the best course, the best racing, or simply just your favourite for whatever reason. It can be an NPS, regional event or even a small local event, anything except the Nationals (which you can vote for under “Best event”).

Best DH race of 2011 (Excluding National Championships)
This award is for the Downhill Event that people feel was a cut above the rest. It could be the best organised, the best course, the best craic, or simply just your favourite for whatever reason. It can be an NPS or Winter League, anything except the Nationals (which you can vote for under “Best event”).

Best event of 2011
This award is for the Best Irish Mountain Bike Event of the year. The biggest, the best, the one that made the impression, for whatever reason. The contenders are the National Championships for the various disciplines, and other high profile standalone events, eg; The Blast, The Cooley Thriller etc..

Best XC competitor of 2011
This award is for the Irish Cross Country Rider that people feel has really stood out during the year. It can be the guy or girl won most races, the person who pulled off the biggest upset, the guy / girl who was always there with a smile of their face giving it 100%. The person who showed the biggest improvement or just simply a rider you admire for whatever reason. It’s entirely up to you to decide.

Best DH competitor of 2011
This award is for the Irish Downhill Rider who people feel has really stood out during the year. It can be the guy or girl won most races, the person who pulled off the biggest upset, had the best crash, pulled the biggest whip or just the guy / girl who was always there with a smile of their face giving it 100%. The person who showed the biggest improvement or just simply a rider you admire for whatever reason. It’s entirely up to you to decide.

Irish MTB promotion awards
The offroad commission has identified several special awards to recognise various people who helped promote the image and appeal of Irish MTB and will be announced on the night.
