Become a BMX Commissaire!
Cycling Ireland & BMX Ireland are running a BMX Commissaires course on the 11th and 12th of May 2013 at NO COST to the participants. This course is open to all although you must be a CI Member but the introduction level membership will suffice.
The tutor will be Mr Phil Townsend a British Cycling BMX Commisaire and a member of their BMX commission..
The course will be based on Cycling Ireland’s BMX Technical Regulations which can be found on the Cycling Ireland website. It will be a two day course based at Cherry Orchard BMX track
The course covers 5 areas:
1) Vulnerable Person Protection
2) Communication
3) Administration and Preparation
4) Technical (two parts – Bike / Rider and Track)
5) Competition
It is anticipated that items 1) and 2) be covered on line and as such the course will concentrate on items 3), 4) and 5) on the Saturday with Sunday morning devoted to a Question and Answer session and some practical sessions with the examination in the afternoon.
Saturday 11th May, registration 10:30 for a start time of 11:00, there will be one hour lunch break and the day will terminate at 17:00.
Sunday 12th May will run from 09:30 concluding around 16:00 with a one hour lunch break.
All costs associated with the course will be covered by Cycling Ireland although persons having to stay overnight will be responsible for their own accommodation.
