2013 Irish BMX National Series – Round 5

Round 5 of the National Series took place on the 14th July on the newly re-modelled DCBMX Track. 84 riders in total turned up to race in the furnace like conditions but judging by the action the heat was not that much of a factor. As well as the racing, DCBMX had the guys from Outdoorcommunity.ie there with their giant Air Bag for the riders to launch themselves off between moto’s.

As predicted the racing was tight and frantic especially in the corners where we saw some nifty passing and impressive crashes. Some of the action was again caught by Simon Murphy, see the video below.

Stephen Kane (Oilte Photography) was there again catching all the action, you can see all his shots HERE and HERE.

Eugene Jackson was also out with his camera, have a look at some of his HERE.

Simon Murphy is also getting in on the who has the biggest lens action, have a look at some of his shots HERE.

Thanks to all the volunteers out at DCBMX for another great day and all the usual people for all their hard work (you know who you are) and not forgetting Commissary McShane for making the hard decisions …

Round 6 in the Series is back out at Ratoath BMX on the 18th August, let’s hope the sun is still shining!

You can get some practice in for the National at Ratoath’s Summer Sessions kicking off on the 26th, see the Ratoath BMX site for more details.
