Day licences are available on the day at a cost of £18 or 20 Euro for the open race. You will still be racing against other riders that hold licences but there will be separate podiums for the open race and national Championships.

The National Championships are open to riders with a UCI IRL code on their license. Entrants must also be current Cycling Ireland members (or a member of another UCI affiliated organisation) and hold an appropriate license for the discipline in which they are competing (for example the minimum license to take part in the National Downhill MTB Championships would be a limited competition off-road license).Only categories recognised by Cycling Ireland will be entitled to National Championship titles/ medals and jerseys that meet the minimum number of entrants.

To calculate your category – take the year you were born from the current year, eg 2015 -1977 = 38. Sport category is for beginners and Seniors is for riders with a good ability and some experience of racing. If you are 12 but turn 13 before the end of 2015 you can race in the Juvenile category.
