Entries open for the Irish National Downhill Championships 2017
Some details of the entries for this year’s Downhill National Championships are shown below. This is a pre-entry only event.
In accordance with Cycling Ireland Regulations the following rules will apply to the registration process for the 2017 National DH Championships weekend in Kilbroney Forest, Rostrevor on 22-23 July.
1. Only holders of Cycling Ireland competition licences with UCI code commencing IRL, or Irish riders (North and South) who hold a license with another UCI Federation such as British Cycling are eligible for the National Championships awards.
2. One Day Licenses (ODL) will not be available for championship competitors but will be available for riders wishing to take part in the event as non-championship competitors.
3. The event will include the following list of categories:
Hardtail Non-championship only
U14 Male Juvenile Championship and non-Championship available
U16 Male Youth Championship and non-Championship available
Senior Women Championship and non-Championship available
Junior Women (U18) Championship and non-Championship available
Masters 50 Championship and non-Championship available
Masters 40 Championship and non-Championship available
Masters 30 Championship and non-Championship available
Junior Men (U18) Championship and non-Championship available
Senior Men Championship and non-Championship available (this includes riders who normally compete as Sports, Seniors or Elites)
4. Registration for those wishing to compete in the championship categories must use the the Cycling Ireland web site at

6. On-line registration is now open and will close at midnight on Sunday 16th July. Please note that riders wishing to take part in the event must use the appropriate on-line registration system – there will be no entries allowed after the closing date.
7. Standard Race Fees will apply
8. Championship medals will be awarded provided sufficient eligible competitors have taken part in each category as described below.
6 or more riders in the category: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
Less than 6 riders in the category: 1st and 2nd place only
Less than 4 riders in the category: 1st place only
