Date change for the 2018 NPS XC series
Due to circumstances outside of their control, MAD MTB is no longer able to host a round of the 2018 Cross-country National Point Series. A lot of work had been going on in the background with developing Ticknock but there was an event clash on the chosen date and other dates do not suit. We hope to have the club and venue back next year.
In order to maintain a 5 round series we simple went to the next club who were looking for an NPS round this year but there were none left. Xmtb was already going to run a round of the Ulster XC series on Sunday 17 June at Lady Dixon Park in Belfast and they are happy to double that round up as an NPS round. This has meant a slight renumbered of the rounds.
These circumstances do happen and we do hope that riders will still be able to get to all the rounds they can.
This leaves the 2018 NPS XC as –
Round | Date | Venue | Host club |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 29 April | Tollymore Forest | Dromara CC |
2 | 3 June | Slade Valley | IMBRC |
3 | 17 June | Lady Dixon Park, Belfast | Xmtb |
4 | 24 June | Tracton Woods | MBCC |
5 | 8 July | Davagh Forest | Carn Wheelers |
Eagle eyed readers will note that 3 of the 5 rounds are in Ulster. This was in contrast to last year when there were none in Ulster. This is just how it fell out this year. Ideally it would be great for 2019 to get a spread of venues across all 4 provinces.
Details of the races will be up on www.irishxcnps.ie
