Irish Enduro riders on the podium at Tweed Valley EWS

A large contingent of Irish riders travelled over to Innerleithen in Scotland for the Vittoria Enduro World Series (EWS) event from 30 September 2021 to 3 October 2021. The was the last round of the EWS for 2021.
On Thursday 30th the Electric Bike race took place. Finishing in first place at the E100 race in the Masters 35+ event was Glyn O’Brien with Michael Cowan taking third place on the same podium.

In the E50 event, Joe Ward finished first in the Vet 50+ category with Stephen McDonald finishing 6th (Results)
Kelan Grant finished 6th in the EWS-E race for the Pro riders (Results).

Over the weekend of the 2/3 October there was the main EWS (UCI sanctioned race where riders must qualify for a place), the EWS100 which is a public entry event, racing exactly the same course as the EWS pros, then the EWS80, another pubic entry amateur event, racing 80% of the same course as the EWS pros.

In the main EWS race, Greg Callaghan finished 8th with Kelan Grant finishing 15th. Other Irish riders took place in the Pro race – Gavin Carroll (72nd), Chris Brown (84th) and Emmet Callaghan (91st). In the Master 35+ race Glyn O’Brien finished 7th, Joe Ward was 13th. Ben Wilson finished 19th in the Under 21s with Ross Callaghan 28th, Brendan Conroy 29th and Ross Ennis 31st. Harry Byrne DNF. In the EWS100 Men’s race, Gary Donaldson was 6th, Michael Rea was 24th, Youen Horner 34th, Garreth Davis 41st, Philip Mullan 61st, Luke Treacy 104th. In the Under 21 men’s category Darragh Sweeny was 24th. (Results)

In the EWS80 race , Hannah Mullin finished second in the Youth 13-16 female category. (Results)
