EOI for UCI cyclo-cross training camp
The Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission is seeking Expressions of Interest for the UCI cyclo-cross training camp. This is a six-day Cyclo-cross training camp for developing Cyclo-cross nations at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland.
The camp will be held from Tuesday 10th to Sunday 15th October 2023 and is open to 16–18-year-old athletes of National Federations affiliated to the UCI (arrival in Aigle on Monday 9th October in the afternoon).
This 10th Edition of the training camp will again focus on the physical, technical, mental, and organizational aspects of competitive Cyclo-cross, and continue to serve as an excellent preparation for future competitions. To conclude the camp, athletes attending this camp will have the opportunity to participate in a national Cyclo-cross race, that will be held around the UCI headquarters in Aigle, on Sunday 15th October 2023.
Details of the camp:
• High level coaching from our Cyclo-cross coach and athlete; Edward COLLINS (GBR) and Eva LECHNER (ITA),
• Use of the terrain and facilities at the UCI World Cycling Centre campus (including the Cyclo-cross course used for several past World Cups and for the upcoming competition) as well as the mountainous roads surrounding Aigle,
• Full-board accommodation at Mon Séjour in dormitories, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the UCI World Cycling Centre’s Vélodrome restaurant,
• Transportation to/from the camp, as well as health/accident insurance and any visas, are the responsibility of each Federation and/or the individual rider,
• Riders must provide their own bikes, related equipment, and shoes/helmet. A packing list will be included in the Welcome Pack that will be sent out once selections have been made.
NOTE 1: Ireland is not guaranteed any spaces on this training camp. The commission wants to put forward names of riders.
NOTE 2: Any rider that does get accepted will have to pay for their own flights to Geneva.
